Australian letters to American ring sizes
American sizing is also called US sizing. These conversions and measurements are approximate: charts can vary slightly, so professional sizing is best when you are unsure.

|---|---|---|---|
| H | 4 | 14.9 | 46.8 |
| I | 4¼ | 15.3 | 48.0 |
| J | 4½ | 15.5 | 48.7 |
| K | 5 | 15.9 | 49.9 |
| L | 5½ | 16.3 | 51.2 |
| M | 5¾ | 16.7 | 52.4 |
| N | 6¼ | 17.1 | 53.7 |
| O | 6½ | 17.5 | 54.9 |
| P | 7 | 17.9 | 56.2 |
| Q | 7½ | 18.3 | 57.4 |
| R | 7¾ | 18.7 | 58.7 |
| S | 8¼ | 19.1 | 59.9 |
| T | 8¾ | 19.5 | 61.2 |
| U | 9 | 19.9 | 62.4 |
| V | 9½ | 20.3 | 63.7 |
| W | 10 | 20.7 | 65.0 |

| Y | 10¾ | 21.5 | 67.5 |

Check the available numeric sizes on each product, including our dainty rings and stackable rings. A conversion does not mean that every ring is available in that size.
Printable finger-measurement method
You can print these instructions and the chart for reference. Use a separate ruler marked in millimetres to measure your paper strip; this page is not a scaled ring-sizing template.
- Cut a narrow strip of non-stretchy paper.
- Wrap it comfortably around the base of the finger you want to size. Keep it snug, not tight.
- Mark where the paper overlaps, then lay it flat and measure from the starting end to the mark in millimetres.
- Check that the resulting loop can pass over your knuckle. If your knuckle is much wider than the base of your finger, ask a jeweller to help choose a secure, comfortable fit.
- Repeat the measurement and compare it with the circumference column above. Use the American numeric size when selecting your ring.
Measure when your hands are at a comfortable temperature, ideally later in the day. Paper measurements are a starting point, not a guarantee of fit.

Measure an existing ring
- Choose a ring that fits the same finger and hand comfortably.
- Measure straight across the centre of its inside opening in millimetres, excluding the metal band.
- Compare the measurement with the inside diameter column above.
Band width affects comfort. For a wider ring, ask a jeweller about the best fit rather than automatically choosing a larger size. Explore our statement rings and check each piece's sizing details.
Online-measurement checklist
- I am sizing the correct finger and hand.
- My hands are at a comfortable temperature.
- I have repeated my measurement with non-stretchy paper or a proper ring sizer.
- I have checked both comfort at the finger's base and clearance over the knuckle.
- I am choosing an American numeric size, such as 7 or 7.5, from the product's available options.
- I have considered the band's width and asked for professional advice if needed.
- If using an on-screen sizing tool, I have followed its calibration instructions. An uncalibrated screen image is not a reliable measurement.

Unsure? Get professionally sized
If you are between sizes, have a larger knuckle or are choosing a wide band, we recommend professional sizing by a local jeweller. Ask for your American numeric size and let them know the style of ring you intend to wear.
